As a Locum Pathologist, you will play a crucial role in the analysis of medical specimens, ensuring accurate diagnoses that are vital for effective treatment plans. Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic evaluations of medical specimens, including tissues and bodily fluids
- Provide accurate and timely pathology reports to referring physicians
- Collaborate with clinical teams to discuss findings and treatment implications
- Maintain high standards of laboratory practices and compliance with regulations
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings to enhance patient care
- Engage in continuous professional development and training
- Assist in quality assurance initiatives and pathology department improvements
- Support the development of pathology protocols and guidelines
Requirements
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
- Board certification in Pathology preferred
- Associate-level experience in a pathology setting
- Strong diagnostic skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
- Familiarity with laboratory information systems and electronic health records
- Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and ethical standards
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8a-5p
No required call shifts
