As a Locum Psychiatrist, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality mental health care to our patients. You will be responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating various psychiatric conditions, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care. nt.
Responsibilities
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations and assessments
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Provide psychotherapy and medication management
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate care
- Maintain accurate and timely patient records
- Participate in case discussions and treatment team meetings
- Educate patients and families about mental health issues and treatments
- Stay updated on the latest psychiatric practices and guidelines
Requirements
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
- Active medical license in the state of Idaho
- Board certification or eligibility in Psychiatry
- Strong clinical skills and experience in psychiatric care
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems is a plus
Schedule: 12-hour day shifts with overnight call, 7 on/7 off
Will cover consults, new admissions, discharges, and emergencies
2 inpatient adult psychiatric units totaling 37 beds
Patient Census: Rounding on 15-18 per day
Average LOS: 5-7 days
Team Structure: 2 physicians, 2-3 residents
EMR: Meditech
Must be board-certified
