This contract position offers an opportunity to provide exceptional psychiatric care in an engaging on-site environment.
As a Locum Psychiatrist, you will be responsible for assessing and treating patients with mental health conditions, developing individualized treatment plans, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic patient care. Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and assessments
- Diagnose and develop treatment plans for patients
- Administer and manage psychotropic medications
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide integrated care
- Maintain accurate and timely patient records
- Provide crisis intervention and management as needed
- Educate patients and families about mental health conditions and treatment options
- Engage in ongoing professional development and training
Requirements
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
- Active medical license in the state of practice
- Board certification in Psychiatry preferred
- 2+ years of clinical experience as a Psychiatrist
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
- Knowledge of current treatment modalities and practices
- Commitment to patient-centered care and ethical medical practices
Schedule: 8a-4p, 7 on/7 off
Overnight call shifts required
Setting: 19-bed inpatient unit
Daily Volume: 12-14 patients
Average Length of Stay: 5-7 days
Patient Population: Adults
Support Staff: RNs, LPNs, mental health techs, activity/recreation therapists
Must be board-certified or board-eligible
