Responsibilities

  • Provide expert trauma surgical care to patients in emergency situations
  • Perform surgical procedures and postoperative management
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care
  • Participate in trauma rounds and patient evaluations
  • Maintain accurate and thorough medical records
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families
  • Stay updated with advancements in trauma surgery techniques and protocols
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and peer reviews

Requirements

  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
  • Board certification in General Surgery or Trauma Surgery
  • Active medical license in the state of practice
  • Experience in trauma surgery, preferably in a hospital setting
  • Strong clinical skills and the ability to perform under pressure
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
  •  
  • Schedule: 12 or 24-hour shifts
  • Patient Volume: 35 per day, split between providers
  • Must be proficient with tube thoracostomy, central venous catheter placement, and arterial line placement
  • Support Staff: Surgeons, APPs, and residents
  • EMR: Cerner PowerChart
  • Must be board-certified
  • Paid travel & expenses
