Responsibilities
- Provide expert trauma surgical care to patients in emergency situations
- Perform surgical procedures and postoperative management
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care
- Participate in trauma rounds and patient evaluations
- Maintain accurate and thorough medical records
- Provide education and support to patients and their families
- Stay updated with advancements in trauma surgery techniques and protocols
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and peer reviews
Requirements
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
- Board certification in General Surgery or Trauma Surgery
- Active medical license in the state of practice
- Experience in trauma surgery, preferably in a hospital setting
- Strong clinical skills and the ability to perform under pressure
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment

- Schedule: 12 or 24-hour shifts
- Patient Volume: 35 per day, split between providers
- Must be proficient with tube thoracostomy, central venous catheter placement, and arterial line placement
- Support Staff: Surgeons, APPs, and residents
- EMR: Cerner PowerChart
- Must be board-certified
- Paid travel & expenses
