As a Locum MD, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality medical care to patients with gastrointestinal disorders. You will work alongside experienced healthcare professionals, gaining invaluable hands-on experience while contributing to the overall health and well-being of the community.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive medical assessments and diagnoses for patients with gastrointestinal issues
- Develop and implement treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure high-quality patient care
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
- Participate in patient consultations and follow-up appointments
- Stay informed about the latest advancements in gastroenterology
- Educate patients and their families about medical conditions and treatment options
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative working environment
Requirements
- Medical degree (MD or equivalent) from an accredited institution
- Valid medical license to practice in the state
- Basic understanding of gastroenterology and related medical procedures
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
- Commitment to providing compassionate patient care
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new medical practices
- Experience in clinical settings is a plus, but not mandatory
Schedule: Weekend call from Friday 5p-Monday 7a, specific dates
Setting: Inpatient and outpatient
Procedure Volume: ~8 per weekend
Required Procedures: Esophageal dilation/manometry, esophageal manometry interpretation, biopsies, lower and upper GI endoscopies, sigmoidoscopy, colonoscopy, Sengstaken/Blakemore Tubes, EUS, etc.
EMR: Epic
Must be board-certified
Paid travel & expenses
