As a Locum MD in Gastroenterology, you will play a vital role in diagnosing and treating gastrointestinal disorders, ensuring patient health and well-being. Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough evaluations and assessments of patients with gastrointestinal issues
• Develop and implement effective treatment plans
• Perform diagnostic procedures and interpret results
• Collaborate with medical staff to ensure comprehensive patient care
• Maintain accurate and timely medical records
• Educate patients and families on gastrointestinal health
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings
• Stay updated on advancements in gastroenterology

Requirements

• Medical degree (MD) with specialization in Gastroenterology
• Board certification in Gastroenterology preferred
• Prior experience in a clinical setting as a gastroenterologist
• Strong diagnostic and clinical skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team
• Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and ethics
• Valid medical license to practice in the state of Kentucky

Schedule: 24-hour call shifts, 7 on/7 off

Setting: Inpatient

Patient Volume: 10-20 per day, 10 admissions per night

Duties: Bread & butter inpatient GI, ED call, consultations, and procedures

Required Procedures: ERCP and bread & butter endo

Support Staff: 3 inpatient APPs

EMR: Epic

Must be board-certified or board-eligible
