 This on-site, contract position offers a unique opportunity to provide essential medical care in a fast-paced medical practice environment.

As a Locum MD in Gastroenterology, you will play a critical role in diagnosing and treating gastrointestinal disorders, ensuring that patients receive the highest level of care. You will collaborate with a team of healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive treatment plans and participate in various patient management activities that align with our commitment to excellence in medical practice.

 

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments and evaluations
  • Diagnose and treat a variety of gastrointestinal conditions
  • Perform endoscopic procedures and other relevant medical interventions
  • Develop and implement personalized treatment plans
  • Collaborate with nurses and other healthcare staff for optimal patient care
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
  • Educate patients on health management and lifestyle changes
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and patient safety programs

Requirements

  • Medical degree (MD) from an accredited institution
  • Valid medical license to practice in the state
  • Experience in Gastroenterology is preferred
  • Strong clinical skills and knowledge of gastroenterological procedures
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and education
  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems is a plus

Schedule: Weekend call from Friday 5p-Monday 7a, specific dates

Setting: Inpatient and outpatient

Procedure Volume: ~8 per weekend

Required Procedures: Esophageal dilation/manometry, esophageal manometry interpretation, biopsies, lower and upper GI endoscopies, sigmoidoscopy, colonoscopy, Sengstaken/Blakemore Tubes, EUS, etc.

Lab and X-ray onsite

EMR: Epic

Must be board-certified
