As a Locum MD, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality surgical care to our patients. This position aims to maintain continuity of surgical services while enhancing patient outcomes. You'll collaborate closely with nursing staff and other medical professionals to ensure a seamless and compassionate patient journey. This role is pivotal in our efforts to enhance healthcare delivery in our community.
Responsibilities
- Perform surgical procedures as per established protocols
- Evaluate and manage patient pre-operative and post-operative care
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
- Document all patient interactions and treatment plans effectively
- Participate in clinical meetings and case discussions
- Adhere to hospital policies and procedures for patient safety and quality care
- Provide educational resources to patients and families regarding surgical procedures
- Stay current with advancements in surgical practices and techniques
Requirements
- MD or equivalent degree in Medicine
- Valid medical license to practice in the state
- Board certification in General Surgery preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in patient management and care
- Commitment to quality and patient-centered care
- Knowledge of current surgical techniques and procedures
Schedule: 24-hour call shifts, specific dates
Must be comfortable with all aspects of general surgeries, upper/lower endoscopies, and basic laparoscopies
Will work independently
EMR: Epic
Must be board-certified or board-eligible
CSR and DEA required
