Description
As a Locum MD, you will be responsible for delivering comprehensive surgical services, ensuring patient safety, and collaborating with a dedicated team of healthcare professionals. This role is essential in maintaining the high standards of care in our staffing and recruiting operations within the healthcare industry.
Responsibilities
- Perform general surgical procedures and interventions
- Conduct pre-operative assessments and post-operative care
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop patient care plans
- Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families
- Participate in surgical rounds and team meetings
- Stay updated on advancements in surgical techniques and technologies
Requirements
- MD degree from an accredited medical school
- Board certification in General Surgery
- Active medical license in the state of practice
- 2+ years of experience in surgical practice preferred
- Strong clinical skills and decision-making abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Commitment to patient-centered care and safety
Schedule: Weekday office shifts, 8a-5p
Call Requirement: 24-hour weekend shifts
Patient Volume: 5 per day
Upper and lower endoscopies and EGDs are required
Support Staff: ER team, RNs
EMR: Meditech and WebAmbulatory
Must be board-certified or board-eligible
Paid travel & expenses
