This is a contract position that requires an on-site presence, providing a unique opportunity for entry-level medical professionals to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic healthcare environment.
As a Locum MD in Hematology Oncology, you will play a crucial role in delivering specialized medical care to patients dealing with blood disorders and cancer. You will work closely with experienced healthcare professionals to ensure that patients receive comprehensive treatment and support.
Responsibilities
- Conduct patient assessments and evaluations in hematology oncology
- Develop and implement treatment plans for patients
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide holistic care
- Perform necessary medical procedures under supervision
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
- Stay updated on the latest research and treatment protocols
- Participate in patient education and counseling
- Assist in clinical trials and research initiatives as needed
Requirements
- MD degree from an accredited medical school
- Completion of residency in hematology oncology preferred
- Strong clinical skills and knowledge in hematology and oncology
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Commitment to patient-centered care
- Active medical license in the state of practice
Schedule: 5x 8-hour shifts or 4x 10-hour shifts per week
No call requirement
Daily Census: 10-12 outpatients, 1-3 inpatient consults
Patient Population: Adults
Case Mix: 60/40 med/onc split
Support Staff: APPs
EMR: Meditech
Board certification required
