This on-site, contract position offers a unique opportunity to provide high-quality patient care in a dynamic medical practice environment.
As a Locum MD Hospitalist, you will play a crucial role in managing patient care, working closely with nursing staff and specialists to ensure optimal health outcomes. This position allows you to contribute significantly to the hospital's mission of delivering exceptional medical services while also gaining invaluable experience in a fast-paced setting.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive medical care to hospitalized patients
- Perform detailed patient assessments and develop treatment plans
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated patient care
- Monitor and manage patients’ progress throughout their hospital stay
- Conduct rounds and provide timely updates to the healthcare team
- Educate patients and their families about medical conditions and treatment options
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and hospital committees
- Document patient care accurately and efficiently in electronic health records
Requirements
- MD degree from an accredited medical school
- Current medical license to practice in the state of Texas
- Completion of Internal Medicine residency program
- Strong clinical skills and experience in hospital medicine
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems
- Availability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends
Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 7 on/7 off
Nightly Volume: 10-12 patients and 3-5 admits
