As a Locum MD in Neonatology, you will play a crucial role in caring for newborns, particularly those who are ill or require specialized medical attention. Your expertise will directly contribute to the health and well-being of vulnerable patients, ensuring they receive the highest standard of care during their critical early days.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive medical care to newborns in a hospital setting
- Conduct assessments, diagnoses, and treatment plans for neonatal patients
- Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals
- Monitor and manage critically ill infants
- Educate families about neonatal care and health
- Document all patient interactions and care provided
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives
- Stay current with advancements in neonatology and pediatric care
Requirements
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
- Completion of a residency in Pediatrics with a Neonatology fellowship
- Current board certification in Neonatology
- Valid medical license to practice in the state of Texas
- Strong clinical skills and a commitment to patient-centered care
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and collaborative environment
Prior experience in a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) is preferred
In-house overnight call coverage
Level II/III NICU
Daily Census: 24-28 patients
Must be board-certified
