We are currently seeking a skilled Locum MD (Medical Doctor) specializing in Orthopedic Surgery As a Locum MD, you will play a crucial role in providing temporary medical services in the field of orthopedic surgery. This position is vital for ensuring continuity of care for patients and supporting healthcare facilities during staff shortages. You will be involved in a variety of orthopedic surgery projects, contributing to the overall success of our healthcare clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Performing orthopedic surgeries according to established guidelines and best practices.
  • Conducting patient consultations, evaluations, and follow-up appointments.
  • Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests such as X-rays, MRIs, and CT scans.
  • Collaborating with nurses, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive treatment plans.
  • Providing education to patients and their families regarding orthopedic conditions and treatment options.
  • Maintaining accurate medical records and documentation of patient care.
  • Participating in departmental meetings, case reviews, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Adhering to ethical and legal standards in medical practice and patient care.

Requirements:

  • Medical degree from an accredited institution and board certification in Orthopedic Surgery.
  • Valid state medical license and DEA registration.
  • Demonstrated experience in performing a wide range of orthopedic surgical procedures.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to adapt to different healthcare settings and collaborate with diverse teams.
  • Commitment to providing high-quality, compassionate patient care.
  • Willingness to travel to different healthcare facilities as needed.

Schedule: 24-hour call

Level II trauma

Setting: Hospital and outpatient clinic

Patient Census: 0-7 per day

Required Procedures: Full spectrum of orthopedic cases minus complex pelvic issues

Support Staff: PA, MA

EMR: Epic

Board certification required

Paid travel & expenses
