We are currently seeking a Locum MD (Medical Doctor) specializing in Pathology . As a Locum MD in Pathology, you will play a crucial role in providing temporary medical services to our clients. Your expertise will be vital in diagnosing diseases and contributing to patient care, making a significant impact on healthcare delivery.
In this role, you will be involved in a variety of projects, including analyzing laboratory samples, interpreting test results, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate diagnoses. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a passion for delivering high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze laboratory samples to identify abnormalities or diseases.
- Interpret test results and communicate findings to healthcare providers.
- Collaborate with medical teams to determine appropriate treatment plans.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and quality standards.
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings to discuss patient cases.
- Conduct research and stay updated on advancements in the field of Pathology.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to medical staff and students.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of new laboratory procedures.
Requirements:
- Medical Doctor (MD) degree with a specialization in Pathology.
- Valid medical license to practice as a Pathologist.
- Previous experience working in a clinical setting or hospital environment.
- Strong knowledge of laboratory testing procedures and equipment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic healthcare environment.
- Demonstrated ability to make critical decisions and solve complex problems.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in diagnostic evaluations.
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8a-4:30p
No call or weekends
Slide Volume: ~40 per day
Cases: Non-GYN cytology, rare bone marrows, peripheral smear reviews, second review of some surgical pathology cases, gross coverage/frozen sections, and some multidisciplinary tumor boards
No autopsies
Support Staff: Staff pathologist, PA
Must be board-certified
Paid travel & expenses
