As a Locum MD in Pediatrics, you will play a vital role in delivering comprehensive medical services to children, ensuring their health and well-being. You will work closely with a team of healthcare professionals to provide high-quality care, perform examinations, diagnose conditions, and implement treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough medical examinations and assessments of pediatric patients
- Diagnose and treat a variety of pediatric conditions and illnesses
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to create comprehensive treatment plans
- Provide guidance and education to patients and their families regarding health and wellness
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in compliance with regulations
- Participate in continuous education and training to stay updated on pediatric care practices
- Manage emergency situations and provide immediate care as needed
- Foster a compassionate and supportive environment for patients and their families
Requirements
- Medical degree (MD) from an accredited institution
- Valid medical license to practice in the relevant jurisdiction
- Experience in pediatrics, ideally in a clinical setting
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work effectively within a team and independently
- Commitment to providing high-quality patient care
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems is preferred
Level I Trauma
Schedule: 8a-8p in-house
Call Requirement: 8p-8a beeper shifts
12-bed pediatric unit
Daily Volume: 5-12 patients (3-6 in nursery, 1-5 on peds floor, 0-2 in NICU)
Admissions: 4 per day, including in the nursery
Required Procedures: Neonatal intubations prior to transfer with temporary vent management, umbilical lines, and lumbar punctures
Support Staff: Respiratory therapists, rad techs, US techs, ER nurses, and ER techs
Must be board-certified
