As a Locum MD, you will be responsible for providing high-quality medical care to children, including diagnosing and treating various pediatric conditions. You will collaborate with healthcare providers, engage with families, and ensure a compassionate approach to patient care. This role not only emphasizes clinical excellence but also focuses on enhancing the overall patient experience.

 

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive medical care to pediatric patients
  • Diagnose and treat illnesses, injuries, and other conditions
  • Conduct routine check-ups and preventive care services
  • Collaborate with medical staff to implement treatment plans
  • Communicate effectively with patients and their families
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
  • Participate in ongoing medical education and professional development
  • Ensure adherence to all healthcare regulations and protocols

Requirements

  • MD degree from an accredited medical school
  • Active state medical license to practice pediatrics
  • Experience in a pediatric setting preferred
  • Strong clinical and patient management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Commitment to providing high-quality patient care
  • CPR certification and other relevant pediatric competencies

Schedule: 24-hour specific shifts, including 6-8 hours of onsite rounding

Coverage of Level II Nursery and ED

Patient Volume: 0-8 per day

Patient Population: Ages 0-21

Required Procedures: Arterial blood sampling, biopsies, bladder taps, endotracheal intubations, I&D of superficial abscesses, simple laceration repairs, lumbar punctures, peripheral arterial punctures, reduction of simple closed extremity fractures, reduction of uncomplicated joint dislocations, frenotomies/frenulectomies, and vent management

Support Staff: Techs, nurses, OB/GYNs, and dedicated OB OR and anesthesia staff

Must be board-certified
