This contract position is on-site, providing a unique opportunity to make a significant impact within the Medical Practice industry by delivering high-quality psychiatric care to patients.
As a Locum MD in Psychiatry, you will play a crucial role in diagnosing and treating mental health disorders, working closely with a dedicated team of healthcare professionals. This role is essential in ensuring that our patients receive the best possible care, while also contributing to the overall success of our practice.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and assessments
- Develop and implement treatment plans for patients with mental health disorders
- Provide medication management and monitor patient progress
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure holistic patient care
- Document patient interactions and treatment outcomes accurately
- Educate patients and their families about mental health issues and treatment options
- Participate in case reviews and contribute to quality improvement initiatives
- Stay updated with the latest research and best practices in psychiatry
Requirements
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
- Current state medical license to practice psychiatry
- Experience in psychiatric evaluation and treatment
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
- Commitment to providing compassionate patient care
- Knowledge of evidence-based treatment modalities
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems
Available Shifts: Weekdays (12a-8a or 12a-12p) and weekends (8a-4p, 4p-12a, or 12a-8a)
Setting: CPEP unit, 56 adult beds and 27 C&A beds
Daily Volume: 25-40 patients and 10-12 admits across the whole clinical team
Patient Population: All ages, high-acuity patients
Support Staff: MDs, APPs, social workers, residents, and nurses
EMR: Epic
Must be board-certified or board-eligible
