As a Locum MD in Psychiatry, you will be responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating patients with various mental health disorders. You will collaborate closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure a comprehensive approach to patient care. This role is vital in helping us meet the increasing demand for psychiatric services in our region.

 

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and assessments
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients
  • Provide crisis intervention and stabilization as needed
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care
  • Document patient progress and treatment outcomes in compliance with regulations
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of psychiatric best practices and standards
  • Educate patients and families about mental health conditions and treatments
  • Participate in case consultations and staff meetings

Requirements

  • MD degree with a specialization in Psychiatry
  • Current medical license to practice in the relevant state
  • Previous experience in a psychiatric setting (preferred)
  • Strong diagnostic and clinical skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team
  • Knowledge of mental health regulations and best practices
  • Commitment to providing compassionate patient care

Schedule: 5x 8-hour shifts or 4x 10-hour shifts per week

No call or weekend shifts

Setting: Outpatient

Daily Volume: 14 patients

Patient Population: Adults

90-minute new evaluations and 30-minute follow-ups

Support Staff: NPs, RNs, social workers, and clinic workers

EMR: Epic

Must be board-certified or board-eligible
