Description
As a Locum MD in Psychiatry, you will be responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating patients with various mental health disorders. You will collaborate closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure a comprehensive approach to patient care. This role is vital in helping us meet the increasing demand for psychiatric services in our region.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and assessments
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients
- Provide crisis intervention and stabilization as needed
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care
- Document patient progress and treatment outcomes in compliance with regulations
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of psychiatric best practices and standards
- Educate patients and families about mental health conditions and treatments
- Participate in case consultations and staff meetings
Requirements
- MD degree with a specialization in Psychiatry
- Current medical license to practice in the relevant state
- Previous experience in a psychiatric setting (preferred)
- Strong diagnostic and clinical skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team
- Knowledge of mental health regulations and best practices
- Commitment to providing compassionate patient care
Schedule: 5x 8-hour shifts or 4x 10-hour shifts per week
No call or weekend shifts
Setting: Outpatient
Daily Volume: 14 patients
Patient Population: Adults
90-minute new evaluations and 30-minute follow-ups
Support Staff: NPs, RNs, social workers, and clinic workers
EMR: Epic
Must be board-certified or board-eligible
Paid travel & expenses
