Description
As a Locum MD in Psychiatry, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality psychiatric care to patients, collaborating closely with healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive treatment plans. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and assessments
- Develop and implement effective treatment plans for patients
- Provide therapy and counseling to individuals and groups
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records
- Stay updated on the latest psychiatric practices and guidelines
- Participate in case reviews and team meetings
- Provide crisis intervention and support as needed
Requirements
- MD degree with specialization in Psychiatry
- Valid medical license to practice in the relevant state
- Experience in psychiatric assessments and treatment
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
- Commitment to patient confidentiality and ethical standards
- Flexible and adaptable to changing patient needs
- Previous locum tenens experience is a plus
Available Shifts: Weekdays (12a-8a or 12a-12p) and weekends (8a-4p, 4p-12a, or 12a-8a)
Setting: CPEP unit, 56 adult beds and 27 C&A beds
Daily Volume: 25-40 patients and 10-12 admits across the whole clinical team
Patient Population: All ages, high-acuity patients
Support Staff: MDs, APPs, social workers, residents, and nurses
EMR: Epic
Must be board-certified or board-eligible
