Description

As a Locum MD in Psychiatry, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality psychiatric care to patients, collaborating closely with healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive treatment plans. This position offers the opportunity to engage with a variety of cases, enhancing your experience in the field of mental health. 

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and assessments
• Develop and implement effective treatment plans for patients
• Provide therapy and counseling to individuals and groups
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care
• Maintain accurate and confidential patient records
• Stay updated on the latest psychiatric practices and guidelines
• Participate in case reviews and team meetings
• Provide crisis intervention and support as needed

Requirements

• MD degree with specialization in Psychiatry
• Valid medical license to practice in the relevant state
• Experience in psychiatric assessments and treatment
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
• Commitment to patient confidentiality and ethical standards
• Flexible and adaptable to changing patient needs
• Previous locum tenens experience is a plus

Available Shifts: Weekdays (12a-8a or 12a-12p) and weekends (8a-4p, 4p-12a, or 12a-8a)

Setting: CPEP unit, 56 adult beds and 27 C&A beds

Daily Volume: 25-40 patients and 10-12 admits across the whole clinical team

Patient Population: All ages, high-acuity patients

Support Staff: MDs, APPs, social workers, residents, and nurses

EMR: Epic

Must be board-certified or board-eligible
