We are currently seeking a Locum MD (Medical Doctor) Psychiatry  In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing temporary psychiatric services to our clients. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring the well-being of patients and supporting the overall mental health initiatives of the organization. As a Locum MD Psychiatry, you will be involved in a variety of projects aimed at delivering high-quality psychiatric care.

Your role will involve collaborating with other healthcare professionals, conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and monitoring patient progress. Responsibilities:

  • Conduct psychiatric evaluations and assessments of patients.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
  • Prescribe and monitor medications for mental health conditions.
  • Provide crisis intervention and support to patients in acute distress.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care for patients.
  • Document patient progress and treatment outcomes accurately.
  • Participate in case conferences and treatment planning meetings.
  • Stay updated on the latest developments and best practices in psychiatry.

Requirements:

  • Medical Doctor (MD) degree from an accredited institution.
  • Board certification in Psychiatry.
  • Valid state medical license to practice Psychiatry.
  • Proven experience in providing psychiatric care to patients.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Empathy and compassion towards patients with mental health challenges.
  • Available Shifts: Weekdays (12a-8a or 12a-12p) and weekends (8a-4p, 4p-12a, or 12a-8a)

Setting: CPEP unit, 56 adult beds and 27 C&A beds

Daily Volume: 25-40 patients and 10-12 admits across the whole clinical team

Patient Population: All ages, high-acuity patients

Support Staff: MDs, APPs, social workers, residents, and nurses

EMR: Epic

Must be board-certified or board-eligible
