This is a contract, on-site position that provides a unique opportunity to contribute to a vital area of healthcare staffing and recruitment.
As a Locum Anesthesiologist, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality patient care in various clinical settings. You will work closely with healthcare facilities to ensure optimal anesthetic management and patient safety. Your expertise will help bridge staffing gaps while allowing you to engage in diverse medical cases, enhancing both your professional experience and the quality of care provided.
Responsibilities
- Administer anesthesia and manage patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures
- Evaluate patients prior to anesthesia and discuss any concerns with the medical team
- Monitor patient vital signs throughout surgical procedures
- Collaborate with surgeons and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Provide postoperative care and pain management solutions
- Participate in quality assurance and patient safety initiatives
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care activities
- Stay current with anesthesiology advancements and best practices
Requirements
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
- Active medical license in the state of North Carolina
- Board certification or eligibility in Anesthesiology
- Previous experience in anesthesiology, preferably in a locum or temporary capacity
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
- Willingness to adapt to various clinical settings and procedures
Schedule: 40 hours per week
Call: Weeknights (3p–7a), weekends (7a–7a), 1:7 rotation
Shifts available at multiple facilities
Daily Volume: 10 cases
Cases: General, vascular, neuro, OB/GYN, urology, healthy peds dental and ENT, cataracts, orthopedics, endoscopy, etc.
No hearts or complicated peds
Support Staff: Additional MDs and medically supervised CRNAs
EMR: Epic
Must be board-certified
