We are currently seeking a dedicated Locum MD (Medical Doctor) or DO (Osteopathic Doctor) specializing in Anesthesiology, with a focus on Cardiac Anesthesiology. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing anesthesia services for cardiac surgical procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the process. Responsibilities:

  • Administer anesthesia for patients undergoing cardiac surgical procedures.
  • Monitor patient vital signs and adjust anesthesia levels as needed during surgery.
  • Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Manage post-operative pain control for cardiac surgery patients.
  • Participate in pre-operative evaluations and consultations with patients.
  • Document patient care accurately and maintain medical records.
  • Stay updated on advancements in cardiac anesthesia techniques and technologies.
  • Adhere to all relevant healthcare regulations and guidelines.

Requirements:

  • Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
  • Board certification or eligibility in Anesthesiology.
  • Valid state medical license to practice as an Anesthesiologist.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in Cardiac Anesthesiology.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment.
  • Attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Commitment to providing high-quality patient care.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7a-3p

1:2 or 1:3 weekend call rotation required

Cases: Mix of cardiac, EP thoracic, and cardiology cases

Must be proficient in performing and interpreting intra-op TEEs and placing central and arterial lines

EMR: Epic

Must be board-certified

Paid travel & expenses
