Description

We are currently seeking a skilled Locum MD (Medical Doctor) or DO (Osteopathic Doctor) specializing in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry . In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing psychiatric care to children and adolescents, making a significant impact on their mental health and well-being. You will be involved in a variety of projects aimed at diagnosing, treating, and supporting young patients dealing with mental health issues.

As a Locum MD or DO in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry , you will have the opportunity to work on diverse cases, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and contribute to the overall improvement of mental health services for young individuals. Responsibilities:

  • Conduct psychiatric evaluations and assessments of children and adolescents.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide medication management and monitor treatment progress.
  • Offer therapy and counseling services to young patients.
  • Collaborate with psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Educate patients and families on mental health issues and treatment options.
  • Participate in case conferences and treatment team meetings.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records.

Requirements:

  • Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.
  • Board certification in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
  • Valid state medical license and DEA registration.
  • Experience working with children and adolescents in a psychiatric setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Empathy and compassion for young patients and their families.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30a-5p

No call requirement

Setting: Inpatient

Patient Volume: 8-10 per day, with 1-2 admissions and 1-2 discharges

Patient Population: Adolescents, some NDU patients

Average Length of Stay: 12 days

Must be board-certified
