We are currently seeking a skilled Locum MD (Medical Doctor) or DO (Osteopathic Doctor) specializing in Emergency Medicine . In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing immediate medical care to patients in emergency situations. Your expertise will be vital in ensuring the well-being and safety of individuals in need of urgent medical attention. As a Locum MD or DO, you will have the opportunity to work on diverse and challenging cases, making a significant impact on the community's health.

Responsibilities:

  • Respond promptly to emergency medical situations and provide appropriate treatment.
  • Perform medical procedures as necessary, such as intubation, suturing, and wound care.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests to aid in accurate diagnoses.
  • Collaborate with nurses, paramedics, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for all patients treated.
  • Adhere to established protocols and guidelines for emergency medical services.
  • Participate in continuous medical education and training to stay current with advancements in emergency medicine.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and their families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up care.

Requirements:

  • Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
  • Board certification in Emergency Medicine.
  • Valid state medical license to practice as a physician.
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certifications.
  • Strong decision-making and critical thinking skills in high-pressure situations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Schedule: 5p-1a or 7p-3a

No call required

Level III trauma

Daily Volume: 23 patients

Annual Volume: 60,000 patients

Support Staff: APPs

EMR: Cerner

Must be board-certified

Paid travel & expenses
