We are currently seeking a skilled Locum MD (Medical Doctor) or DO (Osteopathic Doctor) specializing in Emergency Medicine t. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing temporary medical services to healthcare facilities in Watertown. Your expertise will be vital in ensuring quality patient care and efficient emergency medical services. You will be involved in diverse emergency medicine projects, contributing to the well-being of patients and the community.

As a Locum MD or DO in Emergency Medicine, your role is of utmost importance in filling temporary medical staffing needs, maintaining high standards of care, and supporting healthcare facilities during critical times. You will have the opportunity to work on a variety of cases, from minor injuries to life-threatening conditions, honing your skills and making a significant impact on patient outcomes. 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide emergency medical care to patients in accordance with established protocols.
  • Assess patients' conditions and determine appropriate treatment plans.
  • Stabilize patients in critical condition before transferring them to appropriate medical facilities.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Document all patient interactions, diagnoses, and treatment plans accurately.
  • Adhere to all legal and ethical standards in emergency medical practice.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care outcomes.
  • Stay updated on the latest advancements and best practices in emergency medicine.

Requirements:

  • Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
  • Board certification in Emergency Medicine.
  • Valid state medical license to practice in the state of Watertown.
  • Proven experience working in emergency medicine settings.
  • Strong decision-making and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations.
  • Flexibility to adapt to different work environments and schedules.

Schedule: 7p-7a, specific dates

Annual Volume: 30k patients

Daily Census: 80-100 patients

Support Staff: Mid-levels

EMR: Meditech

Must be board-certified or board-eligible
