We are currently seeking a skilled Locum MD (Medical Doctor) or DO (Osteopathic Doctor) specializing in Emergency Medicine. Responsibilities:
- Respond promptly to emergency medical situations and provide immediate care to patients.
- Perform medical assessments, examinations, and diagnostic tests to determine the nature of the patient's condition.
- Stabilize patients experiencing trauma, injuries, or acute illnesses.
- Administer medications, treatments, and interventions following established protocols.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive and coordinated patient care.
- Document all medical interventions, treatment plans, and patient progress accurately.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff members to provide updates and instructions.
- Adhere to ethical and legal standards in healthcare practices and decision-making.
Requirements:
- Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
- Board certification in Emergency Medicine.
- Valid state medical license and DEA registration.
- Demonstrated experience working in emergency departments or urgent care settings.
- Proficiency in performing medical procedures such as intubation, suturing, and splinting.
- Strong decision-making abilities and the capacity to work well under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with diverse populations.
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development in the field of Emergency Medicine.
Level IV trauma
Schedule: 8 to 9-hour day or night shifts
Annual Volume: 15k patients
16 ED beds, 4 for lower acuity
Support Staff: APPs, scribes, additional MDs
EMR: Cerner
Must be board-certified
