We are currently seeking a skilled Locum MD (Medical Doctor) or DO (Osteopathic Doctor) specializing in Emergency Medicine . In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing temporary medical services to healthcare facilities in Carmel. Your expertise will be vital in ensuring quality patient care and efficient emergency medical services. You will be involved in diverse emergency cases, making quick decisions and providing immediate medical attention.

As a Locum MD or DO in Emergency Medicine, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of challenging and rewarding projects, contributing to the well-being of patients in need of urgent care. Your role will be essential in maintaining the high standard of medical services in different healthcare settings, while also gaining valuable experience in emergency medicine.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide immediate medical care to patients in emergency situations.
  • Diagnose and treat various acute illnesses and injuries.
  • Stabilize patients and make decisions regarding their need for hospital admission.
  • Perform medical procedures such as intubation, suturing, and wound care.
  • Collaborate with nurses, paramedics, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Document all patient interactions and treatment plans accurately.
  • Adhere to medical protocols and guidelines for emergency care.
  • Participate in continuous medical education and training programs.

Requirements:

  • Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
  • Board certification in Emergency Medicine.
  • Valid state medical license to practice as a physician.
  • Prior experience working in emergency departments or urgent care settings.
  • Strong decision-making and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure environments.
  • Flexibility to adapt to different work settings and schedules.

Schedule: 9, 10, or 12-hour shifts

No call required

Shifts available at multiple facilities

Patient Volume: 16-20 per shift

Support Staff: APPs and specialty backup

EMR: Cerner

Must be board-certified

Paid travel & expenses
