We are currently seeking a skilled Locum MD (Medical Doctor) or DO (Osteopathic Doctor) specializing in Gastroenterology. As a Locum MD or DO in Gastroenterology , you will be involved in a variety of projects, including performing endoscopic procedures, interpreting diagnostic tests, prescribing medications, and educating patients on preventive healthcare measures. Responsibilities:

  • Conduct consultations and physical examinations of patients with gastrointestinal issues.
  • Perform endoscopic procedures such as colonoscopies and gastroscopies.
  • Interpret laboratory and imaging tests to diagnose conditions accurately.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs.
  • Prescribe medications and monitor patient responses to treatment.
  • Provide patient education on lifestyle modifications and preventive measures.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and documentation of patient encounters.

Requirements:

  • Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
  • Board certification or eligibility in Gastroenterology.
  • Valid state medical license to practice as a physician.
  • Proven experience in diagnosing and treating gastrointestinal disorders.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in patient care.
  • Commitment to providing compassionate and evidence-based medical care.

Schedule: 7a-7p + overnight beeper call

Level II trauma

Setting: 100% inpatient

Daily Volume: 4-5 new consults, 15-18 inpatients, 4 procedures

ERCP and EUS required

Must be comfortable with moderate sedation

Support Staff: 1-2 APPs

Must teach APPs

EMR: Epic

Must be board-certified or board-eligible
