Description
We are currently seeking a skilled Locum MD (Medical Doctor) or DO (Osteopathic Doctor) specializing in Gastroenterology . In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing temporary medical services to our clients in Medford. Your expertise will be vital in diagnosing and treating patients with gastrointestinal conditions, ensuring the highest level of care and service.
As a Locum Gastroenterologist, you will be involved in a variety of projects, including conducting consultations, performing endoscopic procedures, interpreting test results, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct consultations with patients to assess their gastrointestinal health.
- Perform endoscopic procedures such as colonoscopies and gastroscopies.
- Interpret diagnostic test results and develop treatment plans accordingly.
- Collaborate with nurses, technicians, and other medical professionals to deliver comprehensive care.
- Document patient information, treatment plans, and progress notes accurately.
- Stay updated on the latest advancements and best practices in Gastroenterology.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant medical laws, regulations, and ethical standards.
- Provide guidance and support to junior medical staff and trainees.
Requirements:
- Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
- Board certification in Gastroenterology.
- Valid state medical license to practice in Medford.
- Demonstrated experience working as a Gastroenterologist in a clinical setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in patient diagnosis and treatment.
Schedule: 1 week per month + every weekend
Shift Times: 7a-7p
Call: 7p-7a, as needed
Daily Volume: 10-12 consults, 5-6 scopes
3-4 ERCP consults per week
Advanced procedures required
Support Staff: Endo nursing manager, endo techs, anesthesia
EMR: Epic
Must be board-certified
