Description
As a Locum MD/DO in Gastroenterology, you will play a crucial role in providing temporary medical services to patients in need. This position is vital for ensuring continuity of care and delivering high-quality medical services in the field of Gastroenterology.
You will be involved in a variety of projects, including diagnosing and treating gastrointestinal conditions, performing endoscopic procedures, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and educating patients on preventive care. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Gastroenterology and a passion for delivering exceptional patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct consultations, evaluations, and assessments of patients with gastrointestinal disorders.
- Perform endoscopic procedures such as colonoscopies and gastroscopies.
- Develop and implement treatment plans based on diagnosis and medical history.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests to aid in the diagnosis of gastrointestinal conditions.
- Collaborate with nurses, technicians, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Educate patients on lifestyle modifications, medications, and preventive measures.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for all patients.
- Participate in departmental meetings, case conferences, and continuing medical education activities.
Requirements:
- Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
- Board certification in Gastroenterology.
- Valid state medical license to practice as a physician.
- Proven experience in diagnosing and treating a wide range of gastrointestinal disorders.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to providing compassionate and patient-centered care.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
Flexible Schedule: 1 week on/1 week off or 2 weeks on
Setting: Inpatient, outpatient, and call
Coverage available at multiple facilities
Daily Volume: 12-15 patients
Procedures required
No ERCP or EUS
Support Staff: Additional MDs, 3 PAs, anesthesia
EMR: Epic
Must be board-certified or board-eligible
