We are currently seeking an Entry-Level Locum MD (Medical Doctor) or DO (Osteopathic Doctor) specializing in General Surgery . In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing temporary medical services to healthcare facilities in Dickinson. Your expertise will be vital in ensuring the smooth operation of various surgical projects, making a significant impact on patient care and outcomes. Responsibilities:
- Performing surgical procedures in accordance with established guidelines and protocols.
- Assessing and diagnosing patients to determine the appropriate course of treatment.
- Collaborating with healthcare teams to develop comprehensive care plans.
- Monitoring and managing post-operative care and recovery.
- Participating in patient consultations and providing education on treatment options.
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and best practices in surgical care.
- Documenting patient information and treatment plans accurately.
- Adhering to ethical and professional standards in all interactions with patients and colleagues.
Requirements:
- Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
- Licensure to practice medicine in the state of Dickinson.
- Strong surgical skills and knowledge of current surgical techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-based healthcare environment.
- Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to providing high-quality patient care.
- Flexibility to adapt to different healthcare settings and patient populations.
Trauma Level: IV
Schedule: 24-hour call, 10 shifts per month
25 beds
Daily Census: 15 patients, 0-5 procedures per call shift
Procedures: Abdominal, endoscopy, liver, stomach, gallbladder, appendix, colon, laparoscopy, spleen
Preferred Procedures: Vascular, pediatrics, pulmonary, thyroid
Must be available for phone consults, admissions, and rounding on general surgery patients
Board certification required
