Description
We are currently seeking a skilled Locum MD (Medical Doctor) or DO (Osteopathic Doctor) specializing in Hematology Oncology. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing temporary medical services to our clients in Lafayette. Your expertise will be instrumental in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our healthcare staffing solutions. You will be involved in a variety of Hematology Oncology projects, ensuring the well-being of patients and supporting healthcare facilities.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and examinations.
- Develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans for patients with hematologic and oncologic conditions.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care.
- Perform procedures such as bone marrow biopsies and lumbar punctures.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Provide patient education on treatment options and disease management.
- Participate in tumor board meetings and case discussions.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant medical standards and regulations.
Requirements:
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
- Board certification in Hematology and Oncology.
- Valid state medical license in Lafayette.
- Proven experience working as a Hematology Oncology physician.
- Strong knowledge of hematologic and oncologic conditions and treatments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Dedication to providing compassionate and comprehensive patient care.
Flexible Scheduling: Monday-Friday, 8a-5:30p
Call: Rotating every 4th-5th week
Level III trauma facility
Daily Volume: 15-18
Setting: Primarily outpatient
Patient Mix: 70% Oncology, 30% Hematology
EMR: Cerner
APP support available
Must be board-certified or board-eligible
