Description
We are currently seeking a Locum MD (Medical Doctor) or DO (Osteopathic Doctor) Hospitalist specializing in Internal Medicine for night shifts . In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing high-quality medical care to patients during the night hours. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring the well-being and recovery of individuals in need of medical attention. Responsibilities:
- Conduct medical assessments and provide appropriate treatments to patients.
- Manage and prioritize patient care effectively during night shifts.
- Collaborate with medical staff to ensure comprehensive and coordinated patient care.
- Document patient medical records accurately and timely.
- Respond to medical emergencies and provide immediate interventions.
- Communicate with patients and their families regarding treatment plans and progress.
- Adhere to hospital protocols, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in medical rounds and discussions with the healthcare team.
Requirements:
- Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
- Board certification in Internal Medicine.
- Prior experience working as a Hospitalist or in a similar role is preferred.
- Ability to work night shifts and handle a fast-paced medical environment.
- Strong clinical skills and knowledge of evidence-based practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Capacity to make quick and accurate decisions under pressure.
- Attention to detail and commitment to providing quality patient care.
Schedule: 9p-7a, minimum of 7 consecutive shifts
Volume: 4-6 admits per night
Closed ICU
Will respond to codes and rapid responses
No procedures required
Team Structure: 2 MDs + swing MD overlap each night
EMR: Epic
Must be board-certified
Paid travel & expenses
