Description
We are currently seeking a skilled Locum MD (Medical Doctor) or DO (Osteopathic Doctor) specializing in Nephrology . In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing temporary medical services in the field of nephrology. Your expertise will be vital in ensuring high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our healthcare clients. You will be involved in a variety of nephrology projects, working closely with medical staff and patients.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and examinations.
- Develop and implement treatment plans for patients with kidney-related conditions.
- Perform procedures such as kidney biopsies and dialysis access management.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding kidney health.
- Document patient care accurately and timely in medical records.
- Participate in rounds, case conferences, and departmental meetings.
- Stay updated on the latest advancements and guidelines in nephrology.
Requirements:
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
- Board certification in Nephrology.
- Valid state medical license and DEA registration.
- Proven experience working in nephrology, preferably as a locum physician.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in patient care.
- Schedule: 24-hour call (7a-7a), specific dates
- Setting: Inpatient
- Patient Volume: 8-12 per day
- Callback Volume: 4-6 per day
- No admits, consults only
- Procedures: Dialysis oversight, insertion of temporary dialysis access, pheresis
- Support Staff: Additional MD
- EMR: Epic
- Must be board-certified
- Paid travel & expenses
