Description
In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing temporary medical services to our clients in Sanford. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring the well-being of patients and supporting the healthcare system in delivering quality psychiatric care. You will be involved in a variety of projects, from conducting patient assessments to developing treatment plans, all aimed at improving mental health outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations and assessments of patients.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Prescribe and monitor medications for mental health conditions.
- Provide crisis intervention and support to patients in acute distress.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care.
- Document patient progress and treatment outcomes accurately.
- Offer psychoeducation to patients and their families about mental health disorders.
- Participate in case conferences and treatment planning meetings.
Requirements:
- Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
- Board certification or eligibility in Psychiatry.
- Valid state medical license to practice in Sanford.
- Strong knowledge of psychiatric disorders, treatments, and medications.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Empathy and compassion towards patients with mental health challenges.
- Detail-oriented with good organizational skills.
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8-hour day shifts
No call required
Setting: Inpatient
Patient Census: 8 per day, 5 admissions and 5 discharges per week
Average Length of Stay: 11 days
Patient Population: Adults
EMR: Epic
Must be board-certified
