We are currently seeking a dedicated Locum MD (Medical Doctor) or DO (Osteopathic Doctor) specializing in Radiology . In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing temporary medical services to healthcare facilities in Springfield. Your expertise will be essential in diagnosing and treating patients through various imaging techniques, ensuring accurate and timely medical care.

As a Locum MD or DO in Radiology, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects across different healthcare settings, contributing to the well-being of patients in need of specialized diagnostic services. This role is vital in maintaining the quality of healthcare delivery and upholding the standards of medical practice in the region.

Responsibilities:

  • Performing and interpreting diagnostic imaging studies such as X-rays, MRIs, CT scans, and ultrasounds.
  • Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to determine the best course of treatment for patients.
  • Ensuring the accuracy and quality of radiology reports and patient records.
  • Adhering to safety protocols and guidelines to minimize radiation exposure to patients and staff.
  • Staying current with advancements in radiology technology and techniques.
  • Providing consultation services to referring physicians regarding imaging findings.
  • Participating in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient cases and treatment plans.
  • Maintaining licensure and certification requirements as per state regulations.

Requirements:

  • Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
  • Board certification in Radiology or eligibility to obtain certification.
  • Valid state medical license to practice as a Radiologist in Springfield.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret complex imaging studies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to interact with patients and healthcare teams.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Commitment to providing compassionate and patient-centered care.
  • Willingness to adhere to ethical standards and confidentiality guidelines in healthcare.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8a-5p

Weeknight and weekend call required

Daily Volume: 15-25 procedures

Annual ER Volume: 80k patients

Patient Population: Adults

Cases: General community IR procedures, biopsy & cancer

Support Staff: Fully-staffed radiology group

EMR: Epic and PACS

Board certification required

Paid travel & expenses
