We are currently seeking an Entry-Level Locum MD (Medical Doctor) or DO (Osteopathic Doctor) specializing in Radiation Oncology . In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing temporary medical services to our clients in Carmichael. Your expertise will be vital in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of various healthcare projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and treat patients with various types of cancer using radiation therapy.
  • Collaborate with oncologists, radiologists, and other healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive treatment plans.
  • Monitor patients during treatment to assess progress and adjust therapy as needed.
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient care in medical records.
  • Participate in tumor boards and case conferences to discuss complex cases and treatment strategies.
  • Stay current with advancements in radiation oncology treatments and technologies.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding treatment options and side effects.
  • Adhere to all regulatory requirements and safety standards in the delivery of radiation therapy.

Requirements:

  • Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
  • Board certification or eligibility in Radiation Oncology.
  • Valid state medical license to practice in Carmichael.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective patient interaction.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in patient assessment and treatment planning.
  • Knowledge of radiation therapy techniques and equipment.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development in the field of oncology.

Shifts: 8a-5p

Schedule: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at one location; Tuesday and Thursday at the other location

Setting: Outpatient

Daily Volume: 30 patients

Duties: Consults, follow-ups, treatment and simulation supervision, contouring and treatment planning, treatment visits, imaging reviews, and care coordination

Required Procedures: Simulations, IMRT, 3D, SRS, SRT, SBRT

Support Staff: RNs, RTTs, medical office representatives, dosimetrists, physicists

EMR: ARIA and Cerner

Must be board-certified
