Responsibilities
- Assist in pre-operative and post-operative care for cardiothoracic surgery patients
- Perform patient assessments and evaluations
- Collaborate with surgical teams to develop and implement care plans
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
- Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as necessary
- Educate patients and their families about procedures and recovery
- Participate in patient rounds and contribute to surgical discussions
- Document patient care accurately in medical records
Requirements
- Associate degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant studies
- Current licensure as an NP or PA in the state of practice
- Experience in cardiothoracic surgery preferred
- Strong clinical assessment skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to providing compassionate patient care
- Ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team
Schedule: 24-hour call shifts, specific dates
Will assist with complex cardiovascular surgeries
Team Structure: 1 surgeon, 1 APPs
EMR: eCW
Endovascular Vein Harvesting certification required
Board certification required
Paid travel & expenses
