We are currently seeking a skilled Locum Nurse Practitioner (NP) specializing in Cardiothoracic Surgery In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing high-quality patient care and assisting in complex surgical procedures related to the cardiovascular and thoracic systems. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring positive patient outcomes and contributing to the success of our healthcare facility. Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments prior to surgery.
- Assist in surgical procedures, including open-heart surgeries and thoracic surgeries.
- Manage post-operative care and monitor patient recovery.
- Prescribe medications and provide patient education on treatment plans.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care.
- Participate in patient rounds and contribute to treatment planning.
- Document patient progress and maintain accurate medical records.
- Adhere to all clinical protocols and standards of care.
Requirements:
- Valid Nurse Practitioner (NP) license in the state of practice.
- Certification in Cardiothoracic Surgery or relevant specialty.
- Demonstrated experience in Cardiothoracic Surgery settings.
- Strong knowledge of cardiovascular and thoracic anatomy and physiology.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure environment.
- Attention to detail and strong critical thinking abilities.
- Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
Schedule: 3 shifts per week, Monday-Friday
Shift Details: 12-hour days or nights
No call requirements
Setting: Cardiac ICU

Board certification required
