This contract position is on-site and provides an excellent opportunity for healthcare professionals to contribute to life-saving procedures while working in a supportive environment.

As a Locum NP/PA, you will play a crucial role in assisting with patient care, preoperative assessments, and postoperative follow-ups in the cardiothoracic surgery department. This role is integral to ensuring the highest standards of care for our patients and will involve collaboration with a team of experienced healthcare providers dedicated to improving patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preoperative and postoperative patient care
• Conduct comprehensive assessments and evaluations
• Collaborate with surgeons and nursing staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Document patient progress and treatment plans accurately
• Provide patient education and support throughout their surgical journey
• Participate in daily rounds and contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings
• Ensure compliance with all medical protocols and standards
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records

Requirements

• Associate degree in Nursing or relevant field
• Current certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician's Assistant
• Experience in cardiothoracic surgery or related specialties
• Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Proficient in electronic health record (EHR) systems
• Commitment to providing compassionate patient care
• Level I Trauma

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7a-4p

Overnight call shifts

Duties: Operative first assist and EVH for cardiothoracic cases

Support Staff:  CVOR rad techs, nurses, circulating and scrub nurses, CVOR anesthesia

EMR: Epic

Must be board-certified
