Description

This is a contract position with an on-site working mode, providing a unique opportunity to contribute to patient care in a vital area of surgery.

As a Locum NP or PA, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality surgical care to patients. You will work closely with a team of healthcare professionals, ensuring that all surgical protocols are followed and that patient safety remains a top priority. This position allows you to enhance your clinical skills while working in a fast-paced and supportive environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive pre-operative and post-operative care to patients
• Assist in surgical procedures and ensure proper patient management
• Conduct thorough patient assessments and evaluations
• Collaborate with surgeons and other healthcare team members
• Educate patients and their families about treatment plans and recovery
• Monitor patient progress and document findings accurately
• Respond to patient inquiries and provide support throughout their surgical journey
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives within the surgical department

Requirements

• Active Nurse Practitioner or Physician's Assistant license
• Experience in cardiothoracic surgery or a related surgical field preferred
• Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
• Proficient in electronic medical records (EMR) systems
• Flexibility to adapt to changing patient needs and surgical schedules
• Commitment to patient safety and quality care

Schedule: 24-hour shifts with night call

Daily Volume: 6-18 patients

Procedures: Complex cardiothoracic surgical, perioperative and post-operative care, and advanced surgical techniques

EMR: Medhost

Full team of support staff

Must be board-certified
