Responsibilities
- Assist in pre-operative and post-operative care of cardiothoracic patients
- Conduct physical examinations and assess patient health status
- Provide treatments and prescribed medications as directed by physicians
- Collaborate with the surgical team in the operating room
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans and procedures
- Maintain accurate and updated patient records
- Participate in patient rounds and case discussions
- Ensure adherence to clinical guidelines and protocols
Requirements
- Associate's degree or higher in Nursing or Physician Assistant studies
- Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the state of Georgia
- Experience in a clinical setting, preferably in surgical or cardiothoracic care
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple responsibilities
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
- Professionalism and commitment to providing the highest level of patient care
Schedule: 24-hour beeper call, specific dates
Daily Volume: 8 patients
Duties: Consults, ED, CVICU, and anything related to CT surgery
Team Structure: 1 Surgeon, 2 APPS, floor and OR nurse structure
EMR: Epic
Must be board-certified
