Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and evaluations
  • Assist in neurosurgical procedures under the supervision of attending surgeons
  • Develop and implement individualized patient care plans
  • Manage post-operative care and patient recovery
  • Collaborate with medical staff to ensure continuity of care
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical records
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives within the department

Requirements

  • Current NP or PA licensure in the state of practice
  • Experience in a clinical setting, preferably in neurosurgery or a related field
  • Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team
  • Commitment to high-quality patient care and safety
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
  • Must be able to adapt to a fast-paced working environment

Schedule: Monday-Sunday, 7p-7a, 7 on/7 off

No call shifts

Setting: Inpatient, multiple possible locations

Patient Volume: 20-30 per day or 8-15 per day

Patient Population: Trauma (spine and cranial), elective spine, elective cranial

Skills Needed: Drain removal, shunt adjustment, trauma/practice call

Team: 8 MDs, 9 APPs

EMR: Epic

Board-certification required
