Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and evaluations
- Assist in surgical procedures and provide post-operative care
- Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with the surgical team
- Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as necessary
- Educate patients and families about neurosurgical procedures and recovery
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to enhance patient outcomes
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in neurosurgery and medical practices
Requirements
- Active Nurse Practitioner or Physician's Assistant license
- Experience in a neurosurgery or surgical environment is preferred
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Knowledge of patient care and safety protocols
- Commitment to continuing education and professional development
- Must be able to work on-site as required by the position
Schedule: 3 OR shifts and 1-2 clinic shifts per week
Setting: 50% OR, 40% outpatient, 10% inpatient
Daily Census: 2-3 OR cases or 12-18 clinic patients
Support Staff: Neurosurgeon
EMR: Epic
Must be board-certified
