In this role, you will contribute to the delivery of high-quality neurosurgical services, assisting in both surgical and outpatient settings. Your expertise will be vital in diagnosing, treating, and managing patient conditions related to neurosurgery.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments and evaluations
  • Assist in surgical procedures and provide post-operative care
  • Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with the surgical team
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as necessary
  • Educate patients and families about neurosurgical procedures and recovery
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to enhance patient outcomes
  • Stay updated on the latest advancements in neurosurgery and medical practices

Requirements

  • Active Nurse Practitioner or Physician's Assistant license
  • Experience in a neurosurgery or surgical environment is preferred
  • Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Knowledge of patient care and safety protocols
  • Commitment to continuing education and professional development
  • Must be able to work on-site as required by the position

Schedule: 3 OR shifts and 1-2 clinic shifts per week

Setting: 50% OR, 40% outpatient, 10% inpatient

Daily Census: 2-3 OR cases or 12-18 clinic patients

Support Staff: Neurosurgeon

EMR: Epic

Must be board-certified
