We are currently seeking a dedicated Locum Nurse Practitioner (NP) specializing in Psychiatry . Responsibilities:

  • Conduct psychiatric evaluations and assessments of patients.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans for individuals with mental health disorders.
  • Prescribe and monitor psychiatric medications as needed.
  • Provide therapy and counseling to patients experiencing psychiatric symptoms.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for patients.
  • Document patient progress and treatment outcomes accurately.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient cases.
  • Stay updated on the latest developments in psychiatric care and treatment modalities.

Requirements:

  • Valid Nurse Practitioner (NP) license with specialization in Psychiatry.
  • Proven experience working in a psychiatric setting.
  • Excellent knowledge of psychiatric disorders and their treatment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • Empathy and compassion towards patients with mental health challenges.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
  • Capability to make sound clinical judgments and decisions.

Schedule: 8a-4p

No call requirement

8-bed inpatient unit

Patient Volume: Up to 8 per day

Duties: Rounding, intake evaluations, medication reconciliation, safety assessments, initiate and monitor psychopharmacological interventions, etc.

Support Staff: 4 additional PMHNPs, RNs, social worker, nurse manager, and medical director

EMR: Avatar

Must be board-certified
