As a Locum NP (Nurse Practitioner) in Psychiatry, you will be responsible for conducting psychiatric evaluations, developing treatment plans, prescribing medications, and offering therapeutic interventions. Responsibilities:

  • Conduct psychiatric assessments and evaluations to determine patients' mental health needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients with various psychiatric disorders.
  • Prescribe and manage medications in accordance with established protocols and guidelines.
  • Provide counseling and psychoeducation to patients and their families to support treatment goals.
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care.
  • Monitor and evaluate patients' progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Document patient interactions, treatment plans, and progress notes accurately and timely.
  • Participate in case conferences, team meetings, and continuing education activities to enhance clinical practice.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Nursing with a specialization in Psychiatry.
  • Active Nurse Practitioner license in the state of practice.
  • Certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).
  • Demonstrated experience in providing psychiatric care to patients across the lifespan.
  • Strong knowledge of psychopharmacology and evidence-based treatment modalities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective patient engagement.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based healthcare environment.
  • Detail-oriented with good organizational and time management abilities.

Schedule: 8-hour shifts

24-hour call required

Duties: Routine, urgent, and emergent mental health care, suicide prevention and crisis intervention, individual and group counseling, and discharge planning and reentry coordination
