Responsibilities
- Assist in pre-operative and post-operative patient care
- Conduct patient assessments and medical histories
- Collaborate with surgeons and healthcare teams during surgical procedures
- Provide patient education and support throughout the surgical process
- Monitor patient progress and respond to any changes in condition
- Document patient care activities and maintain accurate records
- Participate in team meetings and case discussions
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards
Requirements
- Current certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician's Assistant
- Basic knowledge of cardiothoracic and vascular surgery practices
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new situations
- Basic proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems
- Commitment to providing high-quality patient care
Flexible Schedule: Monday-Friday, or 7 on/7 off
Shifts: Overnight or 24-hour call
Experience Required: Cardiac critical care experience in post-cardiac surgery, ECMO, LVAD, transplant management, or post-cardiac surgery step-down care
EMR: Epic
Board certification required
Paid travel & expenses
