In this role, you will provide essential support in surgical settings, working closely with surgeons and other healthcare professionals to ensure the highest level of patient care. Your expertise will play a vital role in pre-operative assessments, intra-operative assistance, and post-operative care, contributing to the overall success of surgical outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Assist in pre-operative evaluations and patient assessments
- Provide direct patient care during surgical procedures
- Monitor patients' progress and manage post-operative recovery
- Collaborate with surgeons and medical staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Document all patient interactions and maintain accurate medical records
- Educate patients and their families on post-operative care and recovery
- Participate in surgical rounds and contribute to care plans
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in cardiothoracic and vascular surgery
Requirements
- Valid NP or PA license in the state of Texas
- Experience in cardiothoracic and/or vascular surgery is preferred
- Strong clinical skills and ability to work in a high-pressure environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Basic life support (BLS) certification required
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
Schedule: Monday-Sunday, 8-hour shifts
Call Requirement: Emergency department beeper call
Setting: Operating room-based, emergency department
Endo-vein harvesting and ECMO required
EMR: Epic
Must be board-certified
