Description
We are currently seeking a skilled Locum NP (Nurse Practitioner) or PA (Physician's Assistant) specializing in Critical Care . In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing high-quality patient care in a critical care setting. Your expertise will be instrumental in managing and treating patients with acute and life-threatening conditions, making a significant impact on their recovery and well-being. You will be involved in a variety of critical care projects, collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients in critical condition.
- Develop and implement patient care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Monitor and evaluate patient responses to interventions and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
- Assist in emergency procedures and resuscitation efforts as needed.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding treatment plans and recovery.
- Document all patient care activities accurately and timely.
- Participate in rounds, case conferences, and other team meetings to discuss patient progress and treatment strategies.
Requirements:
- Valid NP or PA license in the state of practice.
- Certification in Critical Care Nursing or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated experience in a critical care setting.
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Commitment to providing compassionate and patient-centered care.
Schedule: 7a-7p or 7p-7a
Setting: Medical-surgical ICU
Patient Census: 11 per day
Required Procedures: Arterial and central lines, intubations, vent management
Support Staff: MDs, APPs, nurses, and regular hospital staff
EMR: Meditech
Must be board-certified
Paid travel & expenses
